Chevmic LLC ("Chevmic," "we," "us," or "our") operates Chevmic Handyman and Chevmic Events out of Avon, Indiana. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our websites, request a quote, book a service, or otherwise interact with us — and what we do with that information.
1. Information we collect
We only collect what we need to respond to you and run our business. The categories below cover everything we handle.
Information you give us directly
- Contact details — name, phone number, email address, and ZIP code or service address when you submit a quote request, book a service, or send us a message.
- Job details — descriptions of the work you need done, urgency, photos you choose to attach, event date and headcount, venue preferences, and similar context.
- Referral source — how you heard about us, if you choose to tell us.
- Payment information — when you pay a deposit or invoice, payment is processed by a third-party payment processor. We receive a confirmation and the last few digits of the card or account used; we do not store full card numbers on our systems.
- Correspondence — the contents of texts, emails, and call notes you exchange with us about your job or event.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data — IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring URL, and approximate location (city/region) inferred from your IP.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see Cookies & analytics below.
Information from third parties
- Booking platforms — when you book Michael through Taskrabbit or Angi Services (Handy), those platforms share your name, contact details, and job description with us so we can complete the task.
- Reviews — public reviews you leave on Google, Yelp, Nextdoor, Facebook, Taskrabbit, or Angi are visible to us through those platforms.
2. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- respond to quote requests and inquiries;
- schedule, perform, and follow up on handyman jobs and event services;
- send appointment confirmations, arrival windows, invoices, and receipts;
- process payments and keep accurate business records;
- improve our websites, services, and customer experience;
- respond to reviews and customer feedback;
- comply with tax, licensing, insurance, and other legal obligations;
- prevent fraud, enforce our Terms of Service, and protect the safety of our team and customers.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
3. How we share information
We share information only with the parties we need to in order to run the business:
- Service providers — our website host, email provider, form-submission processor, payment processor, scheduling tools, and accounting software. They are only permitted to use your information to provide services to us.
- Subcontractors — when a job requires a licensed specialist we partner with, we share the job details and your contact information so they can perform the work.
- Booking platforms — Taskrabbit and Angi Services (Handy) when you choose to book through those platforms, on the terms set by those services.
- Legal & safety — when required by law, court order, or to investigate suspected fraud or misuse, and to protect the rights, property, or safety of Chevmic, our customers, or others.
- Business transfers — if Chevmic is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of business assets, customer information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
4. Cookies & analytics
Our websites use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:
- Strictly necessary — needed for the site to load and the contact form to work.
- Analytics — to understand which pages are visited, how visitors find us, and which content is useful. Analytics tools may include Google Analytics or a privacy-friendly equivalent. These tools may set their own cookies and collect aggregated, mostly anonymized usage data.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may make parts of the site work less smoothly. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where it applies.
5. Third-party platforms & links
Our sites link out to third-party platforms, including Taskrabbit (tr.co/michael-a--253), Angi Services / Handy (handy.com/profiles/MICHAEL46943), social media, and mapping services. Those platforms have their own privacy policies that govern any information you share with them. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites or services.
6. Data retention
We keep customer information only as long as we have a legitimate business reason to do so:
- quote requests that don't turn into a job — up to 18 months;
- completed jobs and event bookings — for as long as needed for warranty, dispute, and tax purposes, and at least seven (7) years to meet recordkeeping obligations;
- website analytics — typically up to 26 months in aggregated form;
- marketing email lists — until you unsubscribe.
7. Security
We use commercially reasonable physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect the information we hold — including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and trusted service providers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we treat your information with the same care we'd want for our own.
8. Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- request a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- request deletion of your information, subject to our legal recordkeeping obligations;
- opt out of marketing emails or SMS at any time by replying STOP or using the unsubscribe link;
- ask us not to share your information with third parties for their own marketing (we don't do this anyway).
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 11. We will respond within 45 days. We do not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
9. Children's privacy
Our services are intended for adults arranging home repairs or events. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective" date above. Material changes will be highlighted on this page. Your continued use of our websites and services after a change indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
