These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Chevmic LLC ("Chevmic," "we," "us," or "our"), an Indiana limited liability company headquartered in Avon, Indiana. They govern your use of our websites — including chevmichandyman.com and chevmicevents.com — and the handyman and event services we provide. By browsing our sites, requesting a quote, or hiring us for a job or event, you agree to these Terms.
1. About Chevmic
Chevmic LLC operates two service brands out of Avon, Indiana: Chevmic Handyman (mounting & hanging, assembly, home repairs, and painting & finishing) and Chevmic Events (event coordination, packages, and rentals). Both brands are operated by the same company under these Terms.
2. Use of our websites
You may use our websites for the purpose of learning about our services, requesting a quote, booking work, and communicating with us. You agree not to:
- use the sites in any way that violates applicable federal, state, or local law;
- attempt to interfere with the security, integrity, or performance of the sites;
- access non-public areas, systems, or technical infrastructure;
- scrape, harvest, or otherwise collect information from the sites by automated means without our written permission;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
We may suspend or restrict access to the sites at any time, with or without notice, for any conduct we reasonably believe violates these Terms.
3. Quotes & estimates
Quotes provided through our website forms, by phone, or by email are non-binding estimates based on the information you give us. A binding price is established when:
- we provide a written, itemized quote for a defined scope of work, and
- you accept that quote in writing (including by text or email) or by paying a deposit.
If conditions on site differ materially from what was described — hidden damage, code issues, additional access work — we'll stop, explain, and quote any change before proceeding. You are never charged for additional work without your approval.
4. Handyman services
4.1 Scope
Chevmic Handyman performs general home repair and improvement work, including TV and wall mounting, furniture and IKEA assembly, smart-home device setup, drywall repair, door and lock repair, painting, caulking, tile repair, light carpentry, pressure washing, and similar minor home repairs and installations.
4.2 What we don't do
Some work requires a licensed specialist. For panel work, gas-line work, structural changes, roofing, HVAC, and other work outside the scope of a general handyman license in Indiana, we will either decline the job or partner with a licensed contractor. We will tell you up front when that's the case.
4.3 Materials
Unless your quote specifies otherwise, materials are either (a) provided by you, or (b) sourced by us and billed at cost plus a reasonable handling fee disclosed in the quote. Specialty parts and special-order items are non-refundable once ordered.
4.4 Pricing
We bill either at a flat rate per job or hourly at the rate stated in your quote, with a one-hour minimum on hourly work. Service-call fees, when applicable, are disclosed before we visit.
5. Event services & rentals
5.1 Booking
Event dates are reserved when (a) you sign and return our event agreement, and (b) we receive the non-refundable retainer specified in that agreement. Until both occur, the date is not held.
5.2 Rentals
Items rented from Chevmic Events are inspected before delivery and on return. You are responsible for items in your possession from delivery through pickup. Damage beyond ordinary wear, missing items, and late returns are billed at the replacement-cost rates in your rental agreement.
5.3 Venue & vendor coordination
Where we coordinate with third-party venues or vendors on your behalf, you remain the contracting customer of those venues and vendors. We are not responsible for the performance of third parties beyond reasonable coordination.
6. Payments, deposits & invoicing
- Handyman jobs — small jobs are payable on completion. Larger jobs may require a deposit, which will be stated in your quote.
- Event services — a non-refundable retainer is required to reserve a date; final balance is due on the timeline stated in the event agreement.
- Methods — we accept major credit cards, debit cards, ACH transfers, and other methods we may make available. Payment is processed by third-party providers; their terms apply to the payment transaction.
- Late payments — balances unpaid after 15 days from the invoice date accrue a finance charge of 1.5% per month (18% annualized), or the maximum allowed by Indiana law if lower.
- Returned payments — returned or reversed payments are subject to a $35 fee plus any fees we incur.
7. Scheduling & cancellations
7.1 Handyman appointments
Appointments may be rescheduled or cancelled at no charge with at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations or no-shows within 24 hours of a scheduled visit may be charged a $50 trip fee to cover scheduling and travel.
7.2 Event bookings
Event retainers are non-refundable. Where a balance has been paid in advance, refundability of that balance depends on how close to the event date you cancel; the schedule is set out in your event agreement.
7.3 Weather & safety
We may reschedule outdoor work or events for weather, unsafe conditions, illness, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control. We will work with you in good faith to find a new date with no cancellation fee.
8. Workmanship & warranty
We stand behind our work. For most handyman labor we provide a 30-day workmanship warranty: if work we performed fails because of how it was installed (not because of the part, normal wear, or new damage), we will return and make it right at no additional labor charge. Manufacturer warranties on parts and materials pass through to you on their original terms.
9. Liability & insurance
Chevmic LLC carries general liability insurance and operates as a licensed and insured business in Indiana. To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the services we provide is limited to the amount you paid us for the specific job giving rise to the claim;
- we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, or business interruption;
- our websites and any information on them are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited under Indiana law.
10. Third-party booking platforms
When you book Michael through Taskrabbit (tr.co/michael-a--253) or Angi Services / Handy (handy.com/profiles/MICHAEL46943), the terms, pricing, cancellation policies, and dispute processes of those platforms apply to that booking — not these Terms — except where we expressly agree otherwise.
11. Intellectual property
All content on our websites — including text, photographs, graphics, logos, project photos, and the overall look and feel — is owned by Chevmic LLC or used with permission, and is protected by U.S. and international copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without our written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use of pages you view in the ordinary course of browsing the site.
Photos of completed projects that include identifiable property may be used in our portfolio. If you do not want photos of your job or event used publicly, tell us in writing and we won't.
12. Dispute resolution
If something goes wrong, we want to know first. Please contact us directly using the details in Section 15 and we'll work in good faith to resolve it. If we can't resolve a dispute informally within thirty (30) days, the parties agree to attempt mediation in Hendricks County, Indiana with a mutually agreed mediator before filing suit. Mediation costs are split equally.
Neither party is required to mediate small-claims-court matters or claims for injunctive relief.
13. Governing law & venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any lawsuit not subject to mediation or small-claims jurisdiction must be filed in the state or federal courts located in Hendricks County or Marion County, Indiana, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Effective" date above. For existing customers, the version of the Terms in effect on the date you accepted a quote governs that specific job or event. Continued use of our websites after a change indicates your acceptance of the updated Terms for future work.
